What Are Respiratory Services?
The Adult Pulmonary Rehabilitation programme is aimed at the chronic respiratory patient following surgery or with inherent pulmonary disease. Close communication with the referring consultant or GP will be maintained to ensure individual treatment protocols within safe limits.
Pulmonary rehabilitation focuses on reducing symptoms of the respiratory disease, decreasing the level of disability, improving engagement in physical and social activities, as well as improving the overall quality of life.
What We Offer
We offer Paediatric and Adult Asthma Programmes are aimed at the chronic asthmatic patient and are focused on improving quality of life through improvement of exercise capacity, education and acute attack protocols.
This program follows current international guidelines of best practice in respiratory rehabilitation. It is run by Chartered Physiotherapists only, and in close conjunction with each patient’s GP and/or respiratory consultant. The acute respiratory programme is particularly beneficial for those with a stubborn or chronic chest infection, which is proving difficult to shift. In addition it is suitable for patients with a chronic chest condition (e.g. bronchitis) who are experiencing an acute attack.
